Artist Spotlight: Betty Taylor

Ahead of their gig at The Garage (Attic Bar) in November, we caught up Betty Taylor's drummer, Katie. We chatted about favourite tracks, dream venues and the band's upcoming show...
We can’t wait to see you headline The Garage (Attic Bar) next month. What can we expect from the show?
You can expect a lot of energy. We’ve been working on some new songs that we’re so excited to share and we can’t wait to see how the crowd reacts to them live. It’s going to be one of those sets where we give it everything and just have fun with it.
Are there any artists that inspire your music/songwriting? Who and why?
That’s probably more of a Sophie question, she’s the main songwriter, so a lot of the lyrical and emotional direction comes from her. But as a band, we’re all drawn to music that feels honest and unfiltered, the kind that hits you right in the chest.
Do you have a dream venue you’ve always wanted to play?
For me personally, it would be the Manchester Academy where I saw my first gig. Would be a wholesome full circle moment.
Do you have a favourite track at the moment?
A song I just found today called Post Madonna by Harris. I’ve had it on repeat ever since.
How is the rest of 2025 looking for you? Any exciting plans you can tell us about?
It’s been a really busy year in terms of creating and recording. We are in a good flow and things are moving along nicely. New music is imminent and we cant wait to share with everyone.
