Artist Spotlight: Blair Davie
Following the release of his brand new EP 'First And Last', Blair Davie plays King Tut's Wah Wah Hut this December. We caught up with Blair to talk about his songwriting inspirations, plans for the rest of 2025 and his upcoming show...
We can’t wait to see you headline King Tut’s in December – what can we expect from the show?
A lot of heart and emotion! I put everything I have into my gigs and it’s all on show. I’m bringing along some pals of mine to join me for a few songs too which is very exciting.
Are there any artists that inspire your music/songwriting? Who and why?
I think I find someone like Lewis Capaldi inspiring for many reasons. I love how he represents Scotland and makes us all proud. I love his honesty and his vulnerability, and his ability to turn his struggles into connection with others. I think that’s the most important thing that I strive to do.
Do you have a favourite track(s) at the moment?
Trusty and True by Damien Rice. It’s 7ish minutes of magic, truth, kindness and love.
What was the first album you bought?
The first CD I can remember buying would have been a “Now That’s What I Call Music”, maybe like 2004 or 2005. The first song I bought and downloaded was “We Are Young” by Fun, still absolutely love that song haha!
How is the rest of 2025 looking for you? Any exciting plans you can tell us about?
Well I’m about to go and open for Skerryvore on their UK tour which I’m excited about, and then my headline shows at the end of the year. I’m also going back into the studio to record some more music for next year, gonna be wonderful!
