Something For The Weekend: 9th, 10th & 11th October 2025

Needing some weekend inspiration? Whether you’re looking to enjoy some live music, need a new artist to be the backing track while getting ready for your big night out, or could do with an album to accompany your lazy afternoon - we’ve got just the thing.

This Friday marks one week since Amy Macdonald released her new single I’m Done (Games That You Play). Early reviews praise Amy’s defiant and bold voice, and the liberating impact of the lyrics.

If you want to hear this new single live or finally get to sing along live to the chorus of This Is the Life, be sure to catch Amy at OVO Hydro, Glasgow in December. Her 12th December show is sold out but there’s still tickets left for Thursday 11th December on her artist page

Saturdays are made for doing whatever you feel like – something The Hives know all about. Filled with ruckus joy, their no-frills approach to music will provide the hype you need this weekend, whatever you’re up to.

The exhilarating experience of The Hives is best enjoyed live. Tickets are on sale now for their Glasgow gig at OVO Hydro on Wednesday 26th November, with support from Yard Act and Spiritual Cramp. Be quick to grab tickets on their artist page

Glasgow's finest multi-venue festival of music discovery, Tenement Trail, is also taking place this Saturday, 11th October. One ticket grants you access to see Dead Pony, Gallus, Dirty Faces and many more! The full lineup and tickets are available on the Tenement Trail webiste.

If a lazy Sunday afternoon at home is on the cards, Loyle Carner’s new album, hopefully!, is the perfect partner to chill out with. Soulful, laid-back beats paired with vulnerable, poetic lyrics are sure to calm you if you’re fighting the Sunday scaries before work on Monday!

If you like what you hear, grab tickets to one (or more) of Carner’s Glasgow gigs this November at the O2 Academy. Tickets are available on his artist page.
