Artist Spotlight: Teenage Dads

Australian Indie-Pop band, Teenage Dads, play King Tut's Wah Wah Hut this September. Ahead of the show we had the chance to have a quick catch up with them...
What’s the best gig you’ve played to date?
It is impossible to pick a favourite! But notable gigs are our most recent home city show at Forum in Melbourne, our first headline show in Dublin at Whelans and LA and or Houston back in April! It really is a pinch me moment getting to play around the globe.
Do you have a favourite track(s) at the moment?
Maybe It Ain't Me Babe - Bob Dylan since I just watched A Complete Unknown. OR Silent Alarm by Bloc Party! I saw them just the other week!
What was the first gig you attended?
It was probably one of my Dad's when I was really young but (I think) the first GIG that kickstarted my love for bands was Northlane in Melbourne when I was 16.
How did Teenage Dads become Teenage Dads?
We all went to high school together and started jamming in the music rooms at lunch time/during study periods. None of us had been in bands or really played instruments. We just learnt LOTS of covers. The very first song we played together was the Law & Order theme.
What can we expect from your gig at King Tut’s?
You can expect us to eat haggis if you throw one up on stage. Or an Irn-Bru!
