Taking inspiration from Foals, Bombay Bicycle Club & Stereophonics, Mark Sharp – accompanied by his Bicycle Thieves – released their debut EP ‘Lost Cause’ to critical acclaim with a sell-out show at Glasgow’s Hug & Pint.
Mark then completed a mammoth challenge of performing 50 gigs across different towns within 24 hours, beating the World Record for the most shows in one day, and raising over £1,000 for charity.
With live shows playing a huge part of the bands’ stature, the rockers never fail to capture the imagination of every crowd they play to – and have enjoyed supporting the likes of Lewis Capaldi, The View & The Snuts, as well as a host of festival slots including TRNSMT, Tenement Trail & EH6.
During 2018, the band SOLD OUT headline shows at Sneaky Pete's (Edinburgh), Midnight Breakfast Club (Bathgate) & King Tuts (Glasgow), before tickets for Glasgow’s Garage Attic were snapped up in less than 5 hours, prompting a venue upgrade due to ‘phenomenal demand’. The upgraded G2 show also sold out.
Dubbed by Gig in the Goil Festival as “An artist you must see”, Nadine Walker (Tenement TV) adds “His voice is like honey over rust and his live show is full of energy” - you'll be immersed in the music as soon as you start to listen.
Mark and the band continue to build an army of followers online, with an ever-growing demand for live shows throughout the UK. The interest is there, and 2019 is set to be huge.
