What's On This Summer In Scotland?

Summer in Scotland is shaping up to be unforgettable, with huge festivals, stadium concerts and standout live shows across the country. From the energy of Pepsi MAX presents TRNSMT to massive nights at Hampden Park and incredible lineups at beloved local venues, this summer’s gig calendar has something for every music fan. 

June is bursting at the seams with rock, pop and soul icons. Twin Atlantic are playing in Stirling, Edinburgh and Aberdeen and Lola Young is bringing her alternative pop to Glasgow. The queen of British soul, Beverley Knight, graces us with her presence over two nights in Glasgow and Aberdeen, and the OVO Hydro will play host to pop icon Lily Allen. 

The biggest party in Scotland is also happening in June. From Friday 19th to Sunday 21st, Glasgow Green will come alive with performances from headliners Richard Ashcroft, Kasabian and Lewis Capaldi, plus a range of other amazing artists like Wolf Alice, CMAT, Amy Macdonald, Loyle Carner, The Last Dinner Party, Perrie, Songer, The Fratellis and more.  

The festival vibes don’t stop there. Summer Sessions is back with the busiest and best lineup yet. Glasgow Summer Sessions at Bellahouston Park will take place this June and July, kicking-off with State Fayre, headlined by The Lumineers and featuring The Proclaimers, Dylan Gossett, KT Tunstall and more, offering a full day of folk-rock, country and Americana music. Plus, Teddy Swims, Alanis Morissette, Pitbull, Kings of Leon and My Chemical Romance are all set to headline their own Glasgow Summer Sessions shows.

You’ll also find The Maccabees at Edinburgh Corn Exchange and the legendary David Byrne at Edinburgh Playhouse throughout July.

August also packs a punch with two shows from Scotland’s favourite DJ, Calvin Harris at Hampden Park. The Summer Sessions buzz continues into August with seven brilliant artists playing Edinburgh Summer Sessions at the Royal Highland Showgrounds, including Biffy Clyro, The Cure, Florence and The Machine, Lorde, The Deftones and The Prodigy. Plus, the all-day family-friendly festival -Heather On The Hill - headlined by Nathan Evans and The Saint PHNX Band, featuring Cian Ducrot, Skerryvore, Brooke Combe, Cammy Barnes, Rose Betts and NATI.

August doesn’t quiet down after this, huge shows from Geese and Kingfishr will round-off the month. 

As summertime winds down, the gigs keep on going. In September, A$AP Rocky will open the month with a bang at the OVO Hydro. Plus, a pop legend returns to the same venue, with Hilary Duff playing to the sold out arena.
