Artist Spotlight: Soapbox

We sat down for a quick chat with Soapbox ahead of their headline show on 25th April in Glasgow...
Your new EP 'Lock In' releases on the 25th April, what can you tell us about the new music?
Lock In is a wee bit different to what we've done before, it's heavier and weirder.
Who have been your biggest inspirations for the EP?
There's a song on the EP that's based on an Irvine Welsh story so probably him.
Is there a dream venue you’ve always wanted to play?
Barrowlands has always been the dream I think for all of us, growing up in a city with one of the most iconic venues means you're always going to want to play there.
We’ve watched the band go from strength to strength, with two sold out King Tut’s headlines under your belt now. How does it feel to be playing your biggest headline to date?
Just glad folk keep showing up! We're always so well supported in Glasgow and it's unreal getting to play these larger venues which we were told were too big for our music not too long ago. Proving folk wrong and having a mental show to go alongside it will be nice.
Biggest headline show and a brand-new EP out, both on Friday 25th April, it’ll be a huge day for you – what can we expect from the show?
We've got a quality line up with some amazing bands, very excited to see P Sweatpants live. Been ages since we've seen the Menstrual Cramp folk as well, they're a riot and buzzing to get them in front of a Glasgow crowd.
