Waterparks is a genre-bending powerhouse whose magnetic pull has cultivated one of the most devoted fanbases in alternative music. The Houston-raised trio of Awsten Knight (vocals, guitar), Otto Wood (drums), and Geoff Wigington (guitar) rose to new heights with their 2023 album Intellectual Property, which hit #1 on Billboard’s Alternative Albums chart and secured Top 10 placements in both the US and UK. Known for their explosive live energy, Waterparks have sold out headline tours around the world, including major venues such as The Palladium in Los Angeles and Terminal 5 in New York City. Their reputation for pushing creative boundaries carries into their studio work as well. According to Awsten Knight, many of the songs on their next album explore large, abstract concepts. “IF LYRICS WERE CONFIDENTIAL” is built around the idea of saying everything you would if no one else were ever going to hear it. He describes it as a way to dig into the most personal and uncomfortable topics, moving quickly through ideas that each could stand on their own. The band continues to expand their global presence, performing on major stages including the main stage at the UK’s Reading and Leeds Festivals. Their performance of “RED GUITAR” at Reading highlighted their status as a standout live act. Waterparks have appeared on the covers of V Man, Alternative Press, Kerrang!, and other major outlets. Their bold creativity and constant evolution have made them one of the most influential and forward-moving forces in alternative music today.
