Formed in 2004 and made up of twin vocalists Phil Etheridge and Martin Saunders, bassist Jon Watkin, guitarist Stu Hartland and drummer Matthew Clinton, mixing dance grooves and blistering guitar riffs.

The Twang

Formed in 2004 and made up of twin vocalists Phil Etheridge and Martin Saunders, bassist Jon Watkin, guitarist Stu Hartland and drummer Matthew Clinton, mixing dance grooves and blistering guitar riffs.

First single 'Wide Awake’ was released in March 2007 followed by Either Way reaching number eight a few weeks later. Critical acclaim followed when The Twang were also awarded the NME's Philip Hall Radar award.

Debut album 'Love It When I Feel Like This' was recorded at Wolverhampton's 'Magic Garden' studio by long term associate of the band Gavin Monaghan. Released on the 4th of June 2007 the album reached Number 3 in the UK charts.

The Twang studio began to work on their second album which would eventually be released in August 2009 and was named after the famous Birmingham district The Jewellery Quarter where the band now resided.

In 2012 The Twang released their third album 10:20. Recorded at the bands own Jewellery Quarter studio by Jon 'Simmo' Simcox' the album included a cover of The Durrutti column's 'Tomorrow'.

In 2014 The Twang recorded their fourth studio album with London producer Rory Attwell. Singles from Neon Twang included Larry Lizard & New Love.

'If Confronted Just Go Mad', their fifth studio album sees a fresh direction for The Twang and their first album to include new female vocalists. The girls have become an instant hit with Twang fans while providing the band with a new optimistic sound.
