Hailing from Dublin and based in London, Orla Gartland is a singer/songwriter whose unique brand of alt pop tips the cap to a spectrum of artists who - like Orla - push their personality right to the forefront of their music, from Stevie Nicks to Joni Mitchell to Regina Spektor.
Having built up a loyal following posting videos online, Orla has played sold-out headline tours of Ireland, the UK & US and along the way has opened stages for acts such as Kodaline, Gabrielle Aplin and James Vincent McMorrow.
Gartland spent 2017 writing and recording new material with Sean Genockey (Reuben, Shame) and Ben Langmaid (La Roux). 'I Go Crazy' is the first of these songs to be released and as with many of Orla’s songs, was born out of personal experience; "it’s about telling someone you love them for the first time and not hearing it back,” she explains. The follow up track 'Between my Teeth' details the same relationship - about "being depended on emotionally and balancing the urge to help with the urge to run away."
