Matt White & The Emulsions

Matt White & the Emulsions are a guitar-driven collision of brazen, tightly wound riffs, melodic lo-fi synthesiser, and lyrical storytelling that cuts to the bone. Influences range from Leonard Cohen to the art-punk energy of the Modern Lovers, with a love of the Pixies’ jagged hooks for good measure. It is music for late-night stragglers, loud room vagrants, and other debaucherous types. In the centre is Matt White: sharp-eyed, emotionally direct, and unafraid to toe the line between vulnerable and abrasive. With the Emulsions behind him, the songs come alive in bursts of tightened chaos and loose lethargic cool.
