Awful Eyes are a Glasgow-based five-piece, formed in late 2024. The group is driven by the all-female rhythm section blending layered guitars, fast-paced drums, and sharp vocal delivery with echoes of 90’s female punk. With the resurgence of guitar music particularly across the UK at the moment, Awful Eyes aim to carve out their own space in the scene — bringing visibility to underrepresented voices, particularly women and non-binary musicians, in a genre still largely dominated by men.
The band are very much in their infancy, making their live debut in March this year, then going onto sell out their debut headline gig at Nice N’ Sleazys just 5 weeks later. With the release of their debut single, Read The Room (23/05/2025), the band want to solidify their presence in the Glasgow music scene with several live dates across the city to be announced. The band are set on building on this debut release, continuing to develop their unique, post-punk inspired sound whilst keeping a heavy focus on gender inclusivity in music.
