Valentine's Day 2026
Valentine’s, gal-entine’s or pal-entine’s. Whoever you’re celebrating February 14th with, make sure you have a gig date night in the diary. Whether you’re with your other half, your best friend or flying solo, Scotland’s live music scene is the perfect background for a night (or two) of unforgettable live music and connecting with those you love.
Valentine’s Day gets a lot of hype around candlelit dinners, flowers that die after 2 days and overpriced, cheesy cards. If you want something that actually feels exciting, something you’ll talk about long after February is over, a live music moment might just be the perfect plan. After all, nothing says “I love you” like singing your hearts out together.
So, this Valentine’s Day, skip the clichés. Celebrate love, friendship and connection in a loud way – in front of a stage, surrounded by music, sharing a night you won’t forget.
One way to make your Valentine’s week extra memorable is with something a little different, like the Your Search Party event at King Tut’s on Wednesday 11th February. This isn’t your usual gig night. It’s a laid-back social evening where good music, fun activities and real human connection take centre stage. No pressure, no awkward setups, just good energy and easy connections. Grab a welcome drink, visit the Cupid Corner to make a simple analogue profile (including a polaroid picture), and enjoy great tunes between games, conversations and optional speed-dating moments – all of this in the intimate, iconic setting of King Tut’s, one of Scotland’s most-loved live music venues. It’s the perfect chill-out event to make Valentine’s feel playful, social and a little unexpected.
If rock in any form is your thing, grab your Valentine this Thursday 12th February. Indie-rockers Good Neighbours will be playing SWG3 Galvanizers, or your dose of indie rock with a side of shoegaze can be found at King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut in the form of LA quartet, Rocket. On the alternative rock front, The Academic will bring their combination of jangly guitars and anthemic choruses to Barrowland. Finally, The Southern River Band are heading to Oran Mor – the perfect night for anyone who wants a loud, lively set.
Friday 13th February offers something for every taste, from rising indie voices to vibrant local bands, the official first day of the Valentine’s weekend is set to light up stage across the country. For anyone who loves melodic, lyrically sharp pop, don’t miss beaux at Glasgow’s The Garage. Dundee’s The Attic Club will be filled with honest and personal pop from Billy Reekie, and Edinburgh will welcome local band SWIM to Cabaret Voltaire. King Tut’s presents The Goodtrips and Probably Stella will bring a youthful, indie-pop energy to the iconic Glasgow venue’s bill.
On the big day itself, the bands on the bill span from refreshing indie talent, folk-rockers and boundary-pushing electronic sounds. It’s a lineup that showcases the diversity of today’s live music scene. Get lost in a rhythmic, high energy set from Mystery Skulls, the solo project from American musician Luis Dubuc, at King Tut’s. Of Monsters and Men bring a different flavour, the Icelandic indie-folk rockers are known for their rich harmonies and storytelling songwriting – catch them at Glasgow’s O2 Academy. Saturday is another chance to see SWIM as they bring their genre-blending electronic pop, this time in Glasgow’s Poetry Club.
To round off the weekend on a high, Irish electronic dance duo Chasing Abbey will play to a sold-out King Tut’s on Sunday 15th February.
With so much live music goodness on offer, grab your loved ones and your gig tickets today.
