Artist Spotlight | Tyler Halverson

How are you feeling about bringing your headline tour to Scotland and what can we expect from the show?

Excited! I love new places and faces. That’s the whole reason I started touring. Just to see where it takes me. But where are the Highland cows at? I need to see some.

Your new album ‘In Defense of Drinking’ was released at the start of this year and includes collabs with Parker McCollum and Wade Forster - are there any other artists that are on your wish list to work with?

I was a punk kid in a cowboy hat growing up. So my dream collab has always been Hayley Williams from Paramore. And as of late, I’ve been listening to a lot of Medium Build and Twin Fin, so I’d love to do something with those dudes as well.

You played C2C London back in 2025, how did you find the crowds over here compared to back home?

Y’all were church quiet and so polite. I almost didn’t know what to do with myself it was so much so! But it became really fun knowing how intently everybody listens and let me play a few more of my songwriter songs. Which I really appreciated.

Do you have an album or song that changed your life or inspired a lot of what you do now?

I’m not sure I can credit it to one album or song. But I’d say that country radio from the late 90’s mid 2000’s really shaped and inspired me. I spent a lot of time with family in the car or pickup going down the road and took what I heard to heart.

How is the rest of 2026 looking for you? Anything exciting you can tell us about?

It’s looking like shows shows shows. I feel most productive when I’m out on the road, so we’re trying to stay going for a while. And then later in the fall we’ll start writing for a new record.
