Shay O’Dowd has released a short film in support of his latest single ‘What’s Your Plan Son’. The eight-minute film is a tribute to O’Dowd’s father, reflecting upon the unique relationship shared between father and son. 

The film stars O’Hara, known for his role in Braveheart and The Departed - alongside Scottish actor Newall, who recently appeared in 28 Years Later. The single was recorded and produced by Jamie Squire, who writes and performs with The 1975, with drums by Freddy Sheed, who plays with Lewis Capaldi and is one of O’Dowd’s musical inspirations.

The track is the second single to be released from O’Dowd’s upcoming EP! Playing to the masses across his busy summer schedule, including TRNSMT, Latitude and Boardmasters festival alongside support dates with Deacon Blue. It comes as no surprise that O’Dowd was named Breakthrough Artist at the 2025 Scottish Music Awards.
