Irish singer Dave Lofts is a rising star igniting stages across Ireland with his electrifying presence and soul-stirring music. Born in Wicklow, the Waterford-resident recently signed a record deal with B Unique in London, who also have Kodaline, James Bay and Kingfishr on their roster.
Dave's sound is reminiscent of a young Van Morrison or peak period Paolo Nutini. His cover versions of "Running Up That Hill" (Kate Bush) and "Seventeen Going Under" (Sam Fender) have received millions of streams. His cover of "Song With No Name", by his idol Shane MacGowan, led to him playing another Pogues song, "Kitty", to an appreciative crowd including The Pogues, Nick Cave, Bobby Gillespie, Imelda May and more at the After Session in Tipperary for Shane's funeral.
Dave's original songs dealing with issues like mental health and anxiety -- "Tell Me", "Let Me Go Home" and especially "Just A Man" -- have strongly connected with audiences. His reputation as an amazing live act has seen him sell out Electric Avenue, Phil Grimes, Bank Lane Whelan's and The Theatre Royal over those last few years.
Dave has wowed while supporting Damien Dempsey, Gavin James, The High Kings, Wolf Alice, PictureThis, Kingfishr, Amble, and The Wolf Tones, where he played to 54,000 people at Thomond Park this summer. Dave's performances at the main Irish music festivals -- Kaleidoscope, Sea Sessions, All Together Now and Electric Picnic –have built an audience strong enough to support his current Irish tour.
