What is your earliest music memory?

My dad showing me frustratedly how to cook while listening to Creedence Clear Water revival.

Tell us about a song that changed your life.

Where Is My Mind? by Pixies certainly signified a change. I remember the chorus having meaning for the first time and it felt OK to not know where my mind was because the way this song was sung was so beautiful.

What about your favourite gig you’ve attended?

Neil Young at the Hydro in 2015. He played most songs from his Harvest album, which I'd taken refuge in, sitting on my windowsill as a teen. The album goes well with the moon at 2-4 in the morning and to stand at the front and hear the sounds that take me to a safe but haunted place was amazing! To feel like everyone in the crowd was going through the same as I in their dealings with the world felt special - as if we were celebrating the pain of it but from above.

What makes Scotland so special for live music?

Since Scottish people can be quite shy about their feelings (except in the toilet on Friday nights) it's always surprising to see how they are so ready to connect through live music. It can become very inclusive and warm, even at heavy rock gigs. So many great experiences and nights can be had in the same little place in Glasgow over the years. The diversity in music here is great too, from little gigs in pubs to huge performances of all genres and names.

What are you listening to at the moment?

Gogol Bordello.

What was the last gig you attended?

Twenty One Pilots at the Hydro in March 2019. They put on an incredible show and it was perfect to hear the echo of hundreds of other people sing along to old favourites!

What is the furthest you’ve travelled for a gig?

Madrid for Milky Chance in 2018.

Can you recommend an artist you have recently discovered?

Youth Lagoon are quite nice!

Who would play your dream line-up?

Bob Marley would headline with support from Nirvana, Led Zeppelin and Red Hot Chilli Peppers.

Streaming or Physical? Albums or Singles?

Streaming, LPs and albums!
