'The Mauritian Badminton Doubles Champion, 1973' is the new single from upcoming Edinburgh musician Hamish Hawk. Inspired by a visit to St Paul’s Cathedral, the song is 218 emotion packed seconds which soar as high as the Whispering Gallery and echo just as beautifully. The track is lifted from Hawk’s forthcoming album Heavy Elevator released on all formats on 17th September, which was produced by Rod Jones of Idlewild and contains the previous singles 'Calls To Tiree' and 'Caterpillar.' Hamish has just announced a show at McChuills on 21st November. Tickets here

Musical polyglot Poppy has just announced Flux, a new full length album slated for release on 24th September via Sumerian Records. The announcement comes paired with the release of a music video for the album’s title track, self-directed by Poppy. 'Flux' is set in a pastel dream world constructed by Australian visual/sculpture artist Pip & Pop in which Poppy is beset by a veritable cavalcade of bizarre characters. Check it out!
