NEW MUSIC THIS WEEK

It’s our favourite time of the week… New Music Friday! Head over to our Spotify channel and check out our New Music Friday playlist to hear the latest releases from our Gigs in Scotland touring artists

A new “B-side” edition of Eminem’s latest album Music To Be Murdered By has just dropped. One of the new tracks ‘Gnat’ has been accompanied by a new video directed by Lyrical Lemonde’s Cole Bennett which sees Shady in typical vitriolic form whilst fighting off a swarm of giant gnats. The re-issue of the album features a whole host of new guests including Skylar Grey, DJ Premier and Ty Dolla Sign

Little Dragon have made a habit of great collaborations over the years and ‘The Other Lover’ with Moses Sumney is no different. A rework of the Swedish band’s previously released song ‘Another Lover’ this version shows brilliant vocal chemistry between Sumney and Little Dragon’s Yukimi Nagano. A late contender for one of the best collaborations of the year

‘She’s My Religion’ is the 2nd new track to be premiered from Pale Waves' forthcoming new album Who Am I? A personal love song, lead singer Heather Baron-Gracie spoke of the song by saying “She’s My Religion isn’t the standard or typical love song. Society depicts the dark sides to a person as unloveable and tends to only focus on the positive sides. I believe to love someone and their entirety creates a love that is freeing and truthful. I also wanted to give my fans a song to find themselves in. I wish I had a song like this when I was a young girl trying to find herself in the world.” Who Am I? is set for release on 12th February via Dirty Hit and we cannot wait!

Lauran Hibberd returns with a rock-infused rendition of Christmas classic ‘Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree.’ Speaking of the track Lauran says “I traditionally hate playing covers, but have also hated 2020 so decided it would be a good time to face my fears.” We’re glad she has as this has got to be our favourite Christmas cover of this year’s festive season. The music video sees Lauran dressed as Santa dancing in front of a green screen featuring a series of different Christmas images. Great fun

Global Citizen’s ‘Together At Home’ livestream festival was one of 2020’s standout live streaming events in what’s been a year like no other. The initiative has returned with Stand Up, an eight-song collection of songs that aims to restore hope, and inspire and celebrate the heroism of leaders and activists around the world. One of the highlights is the afrobeat inspired collaboration of GoldLink and Ari Lennox with ‘Sorrow, Tears, And Blood”
