NEW MUSIC THIS WEEK

It’s our favourite time of the week… New Music Friday! Head over to our Spotify channel and check out our New Music Friday playlist to hear the latest releases from our Gigs in Scotland touring artists.

'Manifesto’ is the latest single to be released from rapidly growing Dublin four-piece SPRINTS, and further cements their place as one of Ireland’s most exciting new acts. Sonically, SPRINTS sound like an arena-slaying band who could bring their darkly theatrical performances to the biggest stages. Daniel Fox of Girl Band has been working with them since their inception in early 2020 and is credited as producer for each track on this beautifully crafted EP that is set for release next year

New Do Nothing single ‘Glueland’ has come out on the band’s own label Exact Truth. Vocalist Chris Bailey spoke of the new track saying “The song refers to the feeling of being stuck in some kind of weird limbo-land. It’s about how rather than being dictated by wild or dramatic decisions, a lot of things (both good and bad) are controlled by this sort of lame jockeying that happens right in the grey dull middle ground of everything. That being said, it’s a fun song and we hope you like it.”

Glasgow band Fauves keep up the funky vibes with new single ‘Spaced Out Face’ out now on First Run Records. The track comes on the back of their nomination for Best Rock/Alternative act at the 2020 Scottish Alternative Music Awards. Don’t forget to tune in this coming Wednesday for this year’s virtual ceremony

‘Ghost’ is classic Gerry and illustrates why he has become one of the most popular artists in the UK and beyond – lyrics sparking rich imagery, reminding the listener of their own life, while deftly telling his own story (“turn into a ghost if you want to disappear, cry tears for someone else some place where I can’t hear”).  Anthemic hooks melt with bittersweet sentiment. Certain fan-favourite, ‘Ghost’ is made for those days when we are all back together and singing our hearts out alongside him

Sister trio Haim are back with a new single taken from the upcoming animated film ‘The Croods: A New Age.’ ‘Feel The Thunder' is an unashamed rock anthem with a heavy nod towards classic-era Guns ‘N’ Roses. This comes as no surprise as it transpires producer Ariel Rechtshaid is said to be “obsessed with them” according to singer Danielle Haim. One to get the crowd rocking at the band’s Hydro show in June
