NEW MUSIC THIS WEEK

It’s our favourite time of the week… New Music Friday! Head over to our Spotify channel and check out our New Music Friday playlist to hear the latest releases from our Gigs in Scotland touring artists.

Dua Lipa has teamed up with Belgian singer Angele for new single ‘Fever.' 2020 has been a huge year so far for Dua with the release of Future Nostalgia in March as well as the follow up remix album Club Future Nostalgia over the summer. It doesn’t end there though as we’ll also be treated to a live stream show titled ‘Club 2054’ on 27th November which promises a night of music, mayhem, performance, theatre, dance and much more. Tickets available here

Scottish artist Alex Amor drops her second track ‘Prove Me Right’ the follow up to her first ‘The Part With Each Other’ today. The new single comes from her debut EP Love Language, expected for release in January 2021 via Believe. Produced closely by the 23 year-old Glaswegian alongside Karma Kid, the EP documents the progression of a relationship, touching on the complexities and heights of human relations, the restlessness of youth, and the inevitable demise of a relationship when both sides recognise they don’t align

‘Science Fair’ accompanies the news that the long-awaited debut album from Black Country, New Road entitled For The First Time will be released on 5th February via Ninja Tune. The album produced by Andy Savours (My Bloody Valentine, Sigur Ros, The Horrors) aims to capture the band’s “energy, ferocity and explosive charge” over its six tracks. This is certainly evident on this track giving us the perfect introduction to what is sure to be one of the finest early releases of 2021

More! More! More! is as anthemic as it is raw and sees singer Johnny Madden reflect upon time spent listening through “paper thin walls” to house parties fuelled by terrible music. Essentially a commentary on a generation that’s stuck in its ways and doesn’t want to grow up. Hard hitting lyrics that are encased in stunning melody, offset against groove ridden, bass heavy guitars and four to the floor drums that will see heads nodding in the mainstream and pits started in the underground

Irish singer-songwriter April has today released her second EP Luna. April is the definition of DIY pop in that she made a name for herself through tracks uploaded on to Soundcloud and has continued that independent spirit with Luna being recorded and completed via Zoom over lockdown. The bedroom writer/producer makes the transition to the live stage on 15th May with a show at The Poetry Club. Not to be missed!
