Edinburgh’s latest pop-up venue has been revealed alongside a host of music icons who will headline. The Big Top at Royal Highland Centre, Edinburgh will play host to some amazing names in music in June 2022 with Madness, Fatboy Slim, Snow Patrol, and Biffy Clyro as the first acts announced to have their own headline shows there, with more acts to be announced in the new year. Music fans can expect to spend a night under the canvas of The Big Top to get that legendary music festival feel.

For all shows: 

A challenge 25 policy will be in operation at the gates ensuring guardians are 21 and over. Proof of age may be requested. Please bring acceptable photographic ID.  

We encourage you to complete a guardianship form if you are attending with someone aged between 14-16 years old (where under 16s are permitted).

This is in line with the national Challenge 25 policy. 
 Note: Photocopies of ID and expired Passports do not count as valid ID. Anyone found in possession of Fake ID will be refused entry. The ID will be confiscated and passed to Police Scotland. 

ATTENDING WITH SOMEONE UNDER 16 

If you’re attending the event with someone under 16 years old, we strongly recommend that you register your contact details via our guardianship process and take the guardianship form to our event welfare team on arrival.  The young person will be provided with a wristband which helps to identify them and reunite you in the unfortunate event that you should become separated. The form will be available here to complete soon. The location of the welfare team will be shared here and on the event map when available. 

WHAT CAN I BRING WITH ME? 

You can bring - blankets, cameras, cigarettes, dancing shoes, ear plugs, hand sanitiser, hats, lip balm, make up, smiles, sunscreen, sunglasses, an empty bottle no bigger than 500ml (not a fancy reusable one though!), wipes and more!  

WHAT CAN’T I BRING WITH ME? 

Please don’t bring a bag unless it is absolutely essential. Bags larger than the size of a sheet of A3 paper will NOT be permitted. 

No chairs, professional cameras, drugs, flares (you’ll get charged by the Police), glass or metal/hard plastic bottles (incl perfume/fragrance), smoke canisters (you’ll get charged by the police), flags, selfie sticks, umbrellas, weapons, frisbees/boomerangs.

SECURITY & STEWARDING 

Event stewards play a key role in ensuring you have a safe and enjoyable event.  If you find yourself in trouble or needing help, let our stewards know as they are trained to assist you and direct you to our other services if required. 

GETTING THERE 

Please respect the local community and our neighbours when you are entering and leaving the festival. 

BUS 

Lothian Buses operate the following regular services from Edinburgh City Centre: Airlink 100, Skylink 200 & 300, 20 & 63 that drop off within a short distance of the Royal Highland Centre 

TRAIN 

The nearest train station is Edinburgh Gateway and is within a 40 minute walk to the venue.  Haymarket is the next nearest station with Tram and Bus links to the Royal Highland Centre / Edinburgh Airport  

TRAM 

The nearest tram stop to the Royal Highland Centre is: Ingliston Park & Ride. This is a 20-25 minute walk to the venue.  

CAR  

Please check back nearer the event for details of official car parking.  There is no on-street parking available so please do not bring your car without an official parking ticket.    

TAXI & DROP OFF

At The Big Top we aim to create an event that’s truly accessible, equal, diverse and inclusive for all!   

The Big Top has a dedicated Access Team working all year round to constantly improve the experience for access customers. We welcome and encourage feedback from our attendees on our accessible facilities. 

HOW TO BUY ACCESSIBLE TICKETS 

Customers can purchase Accessible tickets online through Ticketmaster by selecting a Wheelchair/Ambulant Platform Access ticket. Buy tickets here.

Change 'Ticket Quantity' to 1 Wheelchair/Ambulant Platform Access ticket (Free Companion ticket must be added at the time of booking) 

We expect demand to be high and tickets to sell out quickly on-line. Alternatively, customers can purchase accessible tickets and register for a free Personal Assistant ticket first via Ticketmaster on Accessibility line on 0800 988 4440 (or 00 44 161 637 2697 if you're outside the UK)  

Please do not buy a ticket for your Personal Assistant (PA). (One person will be allowed one free Personal Assistant ticket to ensure fairness amongst all accessible customers unless otherwise pre-agreed due to accessibility requirements, please get in touch with the Ticketmaster Access Team if you require more than one PA ticket) 

By purchasing an accessible ticket, you confirm you or a member of your party require this position. The accessible ticket policy limits one free Personal Assistant ticket to each accessible ticket purchased. The Access team at The Big Top, will process this for you instead of Ticketmaster and will be asked to provide supporting documentation of disability for your companion ticket. 

The Big Top accessible guide with event-specific information will be sent out (via email) prior to the event to all confirmed applicants including arrival info, access maps, distances, access facilities and more We recommend saving and printing a copy of the Access Guide for your own reference (once available). No hard copies will be available on-site.

This is an all-standing event with limited seating around the main arena and VIP. Chairs are not allowed into the event. 

ACCESSIBLE FACILITIES 

To ensure we have the correct level of facilities such as Accessible Toilets, Blue Badge Parking etc. we ask customers to apply for the access facilities they require. Please only complete the Accessible Facilities Survey if you have bought your ticket through Ticketmaster.

ACCESSIBLE PLATFORM WRISTBAND 

We operate 2 different types of wristbands on-site for our Accessible Customers depending on your requirements. 

Accessible platforms are controlled by a wristband system and managed by the Access Manager. To ensure they run smoothly, each location has its own team of stewards, security and customer access team. As platforms have a limited capacity these are strictly for access customers, plus one (1) companion.

STAGE EFFECTS 

Flickering light effect, lasers, strobing, pyrotechnics and other effects may be used during performances. Some of these will look and sound very similar to fireworks. Some will have no visual element but will make a very loud crack or bang noise. Foam ear plugs can be provided on request.

VENUE ACCESSIBILITY 
As this is a greenfield area, we ask Customers to prepare for all weather ground conditions.

MEDICATION   

Customers can bring any medication that they require. If it is not easily recognisable as medication (e.g. Asthma inhalers, Nurofen, EpiPens) then please bring a prescription or a Doctor's letter with you. 

As food and drink are prohibited items, Customers with a medical condition who require to bring food/sugary drinks are welcome to contact us in advance to allow us to make suitable arrangements for you or, alternatively, you can present yourself to a Security Supervisor on the day of the show who will be able to assist you further but this may cause a slight delay to your entry.  

If you need to store your medication in a fridge then please let the Accessibility Coordinator know before the show on access@dfconcerts.co.uk If you are not able to let us know before the show then you can present yourself to a Security Supervisor on the day of the show who will contact First Aid to make suitable arrangements for you. 

Please note that delays may occur due to bag searching, so we request that all Customers be patient with Security.  

WELFARE 

First Aid and Welfare provision will be in place for all shows. If you require assistance, please alert the nearest Steward of member of Event Staff. 

TRAVEL 

BLUE BADGE PARKING 

There will be a dedicated Accessible parking area located close to the Accessible Entrance. If you require use of this car park you will need to apply for Access Parking via the Access Requirements Form here
Please note: 

Accessible Parking is limited  

Blue Badge Holders must have their badge present on the day to show a Steward or register their Car Reg with us in advance 

The Accessible parking area is free of charge 

Parking in the accessible car park is limited, so friends and family arriving separately will not be able to use this car park. 

ACCESSIBLE DROP OFF AND PICK UP 

Accessible customers who are looking to be picked up or dropped off at the show are to arrange for this to be done at the Accessible Parking area. More info on the location will be made available closer to the event. 

PUBLIC TRANSPORT 

Public Transport information will be made available closer to the event. Please keep an eye on this page for more updates.   

OTHER ACCESSIBLE INFORMATION 

The Accessible Platform is seated only. All platforms have ramp access and wheelchair accessible toilets

Hidden Disabilities, we understand that a hidden disability is not immediately apparent. Smoking/Vaping is not permitted on the Accessible Viewing Platform 

Please note that for safety reasons, we advise customers on the Accessible Platform to remain on the platform when the show ends for a short period of time

Please don’t bring a bag unless it is absolutely essential. Bags larger than 30cm x 42cm (the size of a sheet of A3 paper) will NOT be permitted at The Big Top. Those who need to bring bags may be separated into bag search lanes, and could be delayed as a result of longer queues 

You and your PA will be applicable to search on entry, which may include your wheelchair

If you have an ‘I Can’t Wait’ card please present this to the stewards for quick access to the toilets 

Please feel free to bring your own Ear Plugs  

Free water is available at bars for customers 

Please be aware that unacceptable behaviour will have an impact on the experience of other Customers. Any aggression or abuse, physical or verbal directed towards our staff will not be tolerated.

TICKETING INFORMATION

MOBILE TICKETS 

Tickets purchased through Ticketmaster will all be mobile tickets and these will be available within the Ticketmaster app 5 days before the event. 

Sometimes your mobile signal can be weaker when you’re around lots of people at the entrances. We strongly recommend that you download your tickets from the Ticketmaster app to your Apple Wallet or Google Pay Wallet. You can find out how to do this here.

The only authorised ticket outlets for this event are Ticketmaster.  

SAFE TICKET BUYING 

We strongly recommend that you only purchase tickets through our official ticket partners – Ticketmaster. No other agents are authorised to sell and any listing on unauthorised site cannot be guaranteed to gain entry to the events. We’ve seen lots of customers be scammed by purchasing tickets through sites such as Ebay, Gumtree, Stubhub, Viagogo etc. Unofficial sites do not give you the same rights and protections. Be aware and don’t fall for a scam. These tickets might not even exist and if you turn up with a fake ticket you’ll be turned away from the event so don’t chance it. We recommend you only purchase through our official ticket partners. Our official resale partner is Ticketmaster Fan-to-Fan Exchange. 

SPREADING THE COST OF YOUR TICKET

VIAGOGO 

As Viagogo is not an official ticketing agent, we do not recommend customers purchase their tickets from this, or any, secondary selling sites. Unfortunately, because of this, we cannot confirm that you will be guaranteed entry to the event using a ticket purchased from Viagogo. 

If you have already purchased your ticket from Viagogo, we would advise you to contact them directly if you have any concerns 

TICKET RESALE 

We only permit ticket resale at face value through Ticketmaster Fan-to-Fan Exchange. Please do not use ticket sites such as eBay, Gumtree, Stubhub, Viagogo where tickets may be available at hugely inflated prices. Buying through these websites also run the risk of being sold tickets that may not actually exist.

VIP TICKETS 

The VIP area provides a separate area outside of the concert tent.  Your VIP ticket will give you access to an exclusive VIP cash bar, dedicated street food outlet, seating, flushing toilet facilities plus you will be entertained between main stage sets and post-concert by the VIP DJ.  Please note, the VIP area does not have views of the main stage.

BUYING TICKETS ON THE DAY 

We recommend that you purchase tickets in advance to avoid disappointment. Should there be tickets left for sale these can be purchased on the day via Ticketmaster.   

With mobile tickets you can have these delivered to your Ticketmaster app on your phone straight away saving you having to collect these at the box office.  

Please note that our box offices will only be accepting card payments – cash will not be permitted. 

VIP WRISTBANDS 

VIP wristbands will be issued to VIP customers to allow access to the VIP area. 

Details on where to collect your VIP wristband will be sent to VIP customers closer to the event. 

ACCESSIBLE PLATFORM/FACILITIES WRISTBAND 

Customers may require a wristband to access the accessible viewing platform or to use the accessible facilities.  Customers should apply for accessible facilities in advance.  More information on accessible facilities can be found here

Customers will receive communications from the Accessibility Manager closer to the event which will include details on where and when to collect wristbands to access the accessible viewing platform and facilities. 

PASSOUTS 

Your ticket can only be scanned once for each day it’s valid.  There is no re-entry once you’re in the festival site.
