"Funky!...Goodtimemusic if I've ever heard it!" - Jim Gellatly

"Glasgow's supreme purveyors of funk"- Middlemusic.net

Alabaster Jones is a band with a straightforwardmission - for them "it's all about playing good music to the people".

In 2010, six Glaswegian musicians came together toform the group. They immediately gelled and began writing their own brand ofmusic - a sophisticated take on modern alternative funk.

"We simply want to play good music for folk -no bells, no whistles, no moody antics here... just six chaps who like a filthygroove."

The band skillfully blends in harmonies, memorablelyrics and exceptional musicality at every point to maximise the colour andvibrancy of their tunes.

Influenced by a range of classic funk/soul outfitssuch as Sly and the Family Stone, Parliament, The Meters, Prince, The Roots,Earth Wind and Fire, The Commodores etc, to eternal icons who dominate theirown field, like Jimi Hendrix, Jaco Pastorius and The Beatles, to esoteric iconoclastssuch as The Mars Volta, Primus, and Victor Wooten, Alabaster Jones keep thefunk modern and fun.

In March 2013 the band recorded their latest EP,"The Night Before The Morning After", coming July 2013
