V V Brown is back. singer, songwriter, producer, record label owner, model, presenter, ethical fashion brand CEO and entrepreneur, Vanessa “V V” Brown announced her return to music with details of her forthcoming highly anticipated second studio album ‘Samson and Delilah’ and follow up single ‘The Apple’ produced by Ladyhawke and Kylie Minogue collaborator Pascal Gabriel, released on YOY Records on the 25th of August. The new album initiates a new direction and chapter for the multi-talented songstress with an edgier darker electronic sound co-produced by Mercury Award winning producer and The Invisible frontman Dave Okumu. Recently premiered on SPIN.com, new single ‘The Apple’ produces an extraordinarily operatic vocal, where V V’s voice is just one texture among many, all working in the service of a rich and complex sonic palette.
The album is also accompanied by an extraordinary short film depicting the biblical tale of Samson and Delilah which was Co-Directed & Produced by V V and Met Film School Graduate, Jessica Hughes. The video to ‘The Apple’ acts as part 2 to this short film, which will be premiered in full at the ICA in London on the 2nd of September to coincide with album 'Samson & Delilah' album due for international release on the 9th of September 2013.
Fashion house Paco Rabanne have teamed up with V V to shoot an alternative video for ‘The Apple’ as part of their ‘Be A Rock Star’ season with V V Brown which will soon be released. Via the “Excess Diary with V V Brown”, fans of the Paco Rabanne label were able to enjoy the unique musical experience with V V, attending the video shoot for new single The Apple.
