Steve Harley & Cockney Rebel On Tour Autumn 2013
Steve Harley brings his full Cockney Rebel rock band to town after a summer of festivals both in the UK and Europe. The line-up includes long-serving member Barry Wickens on violin and guitar, and guitarist Robbie Gladwell, as well as Lincoln Anderson on bass, James Lascelles, keyboards, and Adam Houghton on drums.
Steve intends to include a track or two from every one of his 12 studio albums, plus some surprises in a set that will run, without support, for two hours+ with an interval.
This year has seen the band play the Isle Of Wight and Rewind Festivals, after delivering a five-star performance with Orchestra and Choir at Birmingham Symphony Hall last winter. A CD of that performance is now on release.
In the set, Steve will include most of the hits, such as Sebastian, Judy Teen, Mr Soft, Love’s A Prima Donna, as well as the perennial favourite, Make Me Smile (Come Up And See Me).
The original Cockney Rebel has been described by Rod Stewart as “One of Britain’s finest lyricists” and the most recent studio CD, Stranger Comes To Town, is testament to that great compliment.
