brownbear are a four piece from Ayrshire, Scotland. . Only a few months after forming the band were taken on to Ally McRae's BBC Introducing show on Radio 1 by Mercury A&R David O'Hagan. They then went on to support Pete Doherty at The Liquid Rooms in Edinbrugh. They were included in BBC Radio 1's Vic Galloway's Top 35 Acts to Watch for 2012. They also received the Award for Best Acoustic Act at The 2012 Scottish Alternative Music Award in front of a sold out crowd in Glasgow Garage. They have also supported acts such as The Bluebells, The Pigeon Detectives, Karima Francis & Pete Doherty. The bands debut EP 'Truth or Dare' made into Glasgow & Inverness HMV Stores. In the summer of 2012 the band had the privilege of playing festivals such as Massilia Rocks (Marseille, France), T in the Park ( T Break), Wickerman, Belladrum (Go North) as well as the main stage at Loopallu and a packed Summer Nights gig at King Tuts! In 2013 the band were tipped by the Sun as 1 of their top 7 acts to watch in the class of 2013 which included artists such as Nina Nesbitt. Their debut single 'Olive Tree' was released via Itunes early in 2013 to a very positive response receiving plays on Clyde 1, Vic Galloway's Scottish New Music show and BBC Radio 1 Introducing show with Jen Long & Ally McCrae. 
The band recorded their debut album in the summer of 2013 and it is set for release in 2014! 
During the summer of 2013 Brown Bear also played festivals such as Liverpool Sound City, Tiree Music Festival & Belladrum. In the fall of 2013 the band supported Babyshambles in front of a solf out Barrowlands in Glasgow and the 02 Academy in Newcastle before supporting The View on a number of their UK Tour dates!!

The band have recently supported The Libertines at the Barrowlands and Hyde Park in London!

They are also played to a packed tent at T in the Park on Saturday 12th July on the BBC Introducing Stage!
