The Detours

From day one The Detours were never going to
be just another unsigned band. The original
lineup went on to win “Live and Unsigned” in
2009, beating over 10,000 other hopefuls in the
UK’s premier Unsigned Band competition.
Over the last couple of years the band have
worked tirelessly on writing, production and live
performance. Working with producer Romesh
Dodangoda (Twin Atlantic/Funeral for a Friend)
on two EPs since 2011, the combination of
energetic guitar riffs, and catchy sing-a-long
choruses saw the videos for “One Last Chance”
and “You Jump, I Jump” on rotation for Kerrang
TV from March 2012.

(One Last Chance)

Both singles retain the same simple, catchy,
radio-friendly formula that has become the
band’s musical trademark.

(You Jump, I Jump)

Most recently with two sell out shows at
Glasgow’s famous King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut and
headlining at the equally famous Barrowlands
Ballroom, and several thousand internet “likes”
this band must finally be reaching some kind of
critical mass.

2013 promises to be interesting year for The
Detours as they add “musical maturity” to their
repertoire, with a clear sense of musical
direction complementing the undoubted energy
of the band. With the addition of an experienced
manager, new songs in the bag, a tour with
Attack! Attack! (UK) in negotiations and looking
forward to releasing a brand new EP with one of
Scotland’s top producers in the springtime,
finally their hard work appears to be paying
