With his self-produced 2012 debut ‘The Boy Who Had Everything’, Glasgow’s Eugene Twist
established his unique narrative and pop sensibility against an organic backdrop of
New - Wave, ethereal Americana and folk, receiving critical acclaim from much of the British
music press. Drawing on influences such as Elvis Costello, Lou Reed and Tom Waits,
Eugene has already played to sold out venues across Scotland, captivating audiences with an
angular lyricism and songwriting sophistication far beyond his 25 years of age.
With only a handful of full band shows to date, this is a chance to see Eugene perform an
intimate showcase of both album and new material with a powerhouse live band including
some of Scotland’s finest musicians -
Ross McFarlane - Drums (Texas / Proclaimers / Jon Fratelli)
Steph Greer - Bass (K.M.O / The Silencers / Justin Currie)
Andy May - Keys (Lou Reed / Jack Bruce / Marianne Faithfull)
Catch Eugene and band in session for ‘Another Country with Ricky Ross’ on BBC Radio
Scotland on the 24th May.
