The Stone Roses
Formed in 1984 and winners of the first ever Mercury Music Prize for 1991’s ‘Screamadelica’, Primal Scream have influenced a generation of fans over their 20 year career. Fronted by former Jesus & Mary Chain’s Bobby Gillespie with Andrew Innes (guitar), Darrin Mooney (drums), ex-Felt keyboardist Martin Duffy (keyboards) and Stone Roses bass guitarist Gary ‘Mani’ Mounfield, they signed to Alan McGee’s Creation Records in 1985 and the rest is history.
Primal Scream is currently working on a new LP, due for release Spring 2013.
Jake Bugg By now, it’s likely you will have heard of Jake Bugg following on from his support slots at two of the year’s hottest gigs: namely The Stone Roses’ miniscule secret London show at Village Underground, and a week later, Noel Gallagher’s smallest ever solo performance at Camden’s Dingwalls. Upon release this month, his self-titled debut album shot to number 1 in the UK album charts - to put it extremely simply, Jake Bugg is the most exciting new singer and songwriter in the UK. No contest.
The View have had a blistering 2012 so far returning to form with their critically acclaimed fourth album ‘Cheeky For A Reason’, which stormed in to the top ten charts. The band has toured extensively across Europe throughout the summer receiving praise for their electric performances and will finish this year with an impressive winter tour across the UK
