Raymond Meade is a singer/songwriter from Glasgow whose music is steeped in classic rock’n’roll roots. He first came to public attention as the singer/songwriter of The Ronelles, a raucous Glaswegian 4 piece who enjoyed success between 2005-2007, releasing the critically acclaimed Motel album. The band toured all over the world including support slots with Kings of Leon, the Proclaimers, the Zutons and countless others. After deciding to venture out alone and guest guitar appearances in the Shane MacGowans solo band and Proud Mary, Raymond spent time writing the songs that would form his 1st solo album, Fables and Follies. The music is a departure from the Ronelles 60's/70's sound and is best described as anthemic rock’n’roll. Guest collaborators on the album include legendary Scottish author Iain Banks, Pogues guitarist Philip Chevron and Jon Fratelli of the Fratellis. Playing live, Raymonds’ band boasts Ross McFarlane (Texas/Proclaimers/Codeine Velvet Club) Garry John Kane (Proclaimers/Button Up) and Stuart MacLeod (Kevin McDermott Orchestra) and is currently gaining rave reviews.
